After recent terrorist attacks and the crash of a Russian jet in Egypt, along with cases of airport employees smuggling drugs and weapons, the TSA will increase random checks of those working at the airport or for the airlines.

Personnel will undergo enhanced screenings in secure areas, while airports are encouraged to reduce employee access points.

Hundreds of airport workers in the U.S. can skip security lines once they pass a background check and get a Security Identification Display Area badge.
