The need to protect the environment is a group effort and now hotels are doing their part, too.

Skift reports that 16 New York City hotels are agreeing to cut greenhouse gases by 30 percent or more by 2025.

The pledge is part of the city’s Carbon Challenge program and is estimated to reduce admissions by 32,000 metric tons. By estimations, the action will save $25 million in energy costs.

The Waldorf Astoria New York, the Lotte New York Palace, The Pierre, Crowne Plaza Times Square, Grand Hyatt New York, Westin New York at Times Square, and The Peninsula New York are among the participating properties.
