According to a new report from airport advocacy group Global Gateway Alliance, the Wi-Fi at New York City area airports is too expensive and even the free Wi-Fi doesn’t stack up against that of other airports.

The New York Daily News reports that fliers at JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty airports get 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi after watching an ad. Want an hour of service? Pony up $4.95, or $7.95 for the whole day.

These aren’t the only places where you have to pay to connect. At Miami-Dade, you get free access to travel-related websites and have to pay $4.95 for the first half-hour or $7.95 for 24 hours. At Chicago O’Hare, 24-hour access means having to shell out $6.95.

There are airports that offer free Wi-Fi, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta. Travelers at LAX can expect free service as well (and premium service for an hour or 24, priced at $4.95 and $7.95, respectively). Internet at Minneapolis-St. Paul is free with an ad every 45 minutes or $2.95 for uninterrupted 24-hour usage.
