Ever since the news broke of a beloved protected African lion being killed by a game-hunting American dentist, the activity has been thrust into the international spotlight.

Now, U.S. airlines are taking a stand against it. American, Delta, and United are announcing that they will refuse to permit certain animal trophies aboard, USA Today reports. This includes buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino trophies.

Foreign carriers like Air France, KLM, Iberia, IAG Cargo, Singapore Airlines, Qantas, South African Airways, Emirates, Lufthansa, and British Airways are banning the shipments, too.

Additionally, the New York Daily News is reporting that New York State senator Brad Hoylman will introduce legislation that would ban the remains of threatened or endangered species from being shipped in cargo through JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark International airports.
