Starting in 2019, visitors to Liberty Island will have to carve out more time to visit another attraction: the new Statue of Liberty Museum.
Measuring in at 26,000 square feet, the museum will have four areas, including three galleries and a mural of 50 star sculptures. As part of the design, expect exposed steel structures, low lighting, a paved terrace, and grassy areas accessible by a massive staircase.
Admission will be part of the ferry ticket to Liberty and Ellis islands.
