Bad news for our bespectacled buddies.

The State Department is announcing that from now on, those applying for or renewing passports will have to remove their glasses when taking their photos. The change is in place to eliminate glare and shadows that hold up processing paperwork.

If you are wearing glasses in your current, unexpired passport, don’t worry. You won’t have to reapply with a new photo until your passport does expire.
