The Main Street Electrical Parade – one of Walt Disney World’s most popular nighttime displays – is going westward.

On Oct. 9, the Magic Kingdom parade will pack up to head to Disneyland for a limited time. Filed with dazzling illuminated floats and costumed characters, the parade began in 1972 at Disneyland before making its way to Florida in 1977, during which it ran until 1991. It returned in 1999 for two years, then began its latest stint in 2010.

Those interested in watching the parade before it closes on the East Coast should note that it is not presented on nights that the Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Disneyland’s Paint the Night parade, which debuted for the resort’s 60th anniversary in 2015, will end on Sept. 5 – though it will be shown on select nights during the holiday season.
