One of the biggest draws about cruising is that room service is usually included in the fare.

USA Today reports that Carnival Cruise Line is now charging up to $6 per plate on new room service menu items like quesadillas, shrimp, chicken wings, pizza, and cheesesteak. However, there are still some menu items that are free – like cold sandwiches and dessert – for now.

Carnival is hardly alone in charging extra for room service in the last 18 months. Norwegian tacks on a $7.95 fee per order, while passengers on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas have to pay for select items.
