More construction is coming to Manhattan – and this time it’ll be at two of New York City’s most frequented destinations.

Gov. Cuomo is announcing that major upgrades are in the works for Penn Station and Jacob Javits Center.

The $2 billion renovation at Penn Station will add new entrances on Seventh Avenue or 33rd St., a glass wall and entrances on Eighth Avenue, raze the theater at Madison Square Garden, and restore the neighboring Farley Post Office.

The post office would become a passenger waiting area with shops and offices. The state is awaiting design proposals from several firms.

The Javits Center is slated to undergo a $1 billion project that will increase its square footage to 3.3 million and give it the Northeast’s largest ballroom of 60,000 square feet. Also in the works are a new 500,000-square-foot exhibition hall and new indoor and outdoor meeting spaces.
