Ever since the closing of the iconic TWA Terminal at JFK Airport, there has been speculation that the building may reopen as a hotel.

After a brush with developer Andre Balazs, whose plans to turn the landmark building into a boutique hotel went bust a couple of years ago, there is renewed hope.

According to Bloomberg, a group of new investors hopes to turn the terminal into an upscale hotel. The group is led by MCR Development LLC, also has JetBlue as a small financial investor, and is said to be in talks with the Port Authority.

JetBlue may have particular interest in the project because of the close proximity of the TWA Terminal to JetBlue’s current terminal.
