A special fall vacation destination combines parents' and kids' dreams of an ideal getaway -- from cartoon characters to relaxing beaches. NY1's Travel reporter Valarie D'Elia filed the following report.

One of the best times to take a family vacation is after Labor Day, especially if you have little ones who are still too young for the first day of school.

Parents with pre-schoolers can benefit from lower rates, fewer crowds and exclusive attractions if they head to any one of the four Beaches resorts located in Jamaica and Turks & Caicos this fall.

A family favorite any time of the year, Beaches, an all inclusive resort is promoting a new program called WonderFALL expressly for families with young children.

While the big kids are getting ready for the first days of school back home, little ones can be going to sleep and waking up to their favorite Sesame Street characters.

Expanding on their partnership with Sesame Street, Beaches is introducing new stage shows featuring Abby Cadabby who also leads a magical treasure hunt. On select dates in September, Gordon and Elmo will also take to the stage for their own live production.

By offering a packed schedule and fun opportunities to bond with your kids, as well as offering parenting workshops, Beaches makes it easy to be a parent, by offering parenting workshops.

Since more kids are traveling with their grandparents these days, there are special events just for the first and third generations.

With so many planned activities, it might be easy to overlook the simple pleasures of just being at the beach. If you want some time for yourself, drop your kids at the free Camp Sesame.

You can save almost half off a Beaches vacation during their WonderFALL program by booking a seven-night stay in September and October. Two of those nights will be free, so rates start at $2,880 for a family of four. Airfare is not included.

For more information, call 1-800-BEACHES or visit www.beaches.com.

Now here's a D'Elia's Deal you don't want to miss, for a chance at fame and a free return trip to Beaches. Each child visiting during WonderFALL receives a complimentary photo which can be entered into a drawing to select the new face of the next Beaches brochure.
