Going on vacation but don’t have the funds to back it up?

It happens more than you’d think, according to an Experian Consumer Services survey.

The study polled 1,000 adults and reveals that 46 percent pay for vacations by credit card when they do not have enough money saved.

USA Today reports that 49 percent of travelers accumulate credit card debt while traveling, and 68 percent go over budget.

Even more alarming, 52 percent of millennials return home with credit card debt, and 72 percent spend beyond their budget.

The study concludes that hotels, airfare, entertainment, and dining are the most common sources of credit card debt.
