St. Bart’s, the picture perfect French island in the Caribbean can be an idyllic location for couples looking to tie the knot against a tropical backdrop.

And now it’s easier to obtain a marriage certificate, with a recent change in a law.

Up until now, U.S. visitors who wanted to get hitched on St. Bart’s were required to stay in residence for a month before a legal marriage certificate could be issued.

Now, there is no longer a delay of residence, however it requires an advance trip.  Couples  simply fill out a document and submit it to city hall in person 30 days before the wedding.

There are several churches on the island, including Catholic and Anglican.

The island offers an array of accommodations, including standard hotel suites, as well as luxurious penthouses and villas.

For something more intimate, there are also smaller hotels and lodges.
