Travelers will want to visit some “losers,” when it means taking a fitness vacation to the Biggest Losers Resort in Niagara. NY1′s Valarie D’Elia filed the following report.

In upstate New York, a “Biggest Loser” fitness vacation is now a whole lot closer to reality. It’s not every day you get to work out with reality TV’s “Biggest Losers,” but that s the case at a new resort just an hour outside Buffalo.

“We try to make it as real as possible to the show. Yes there’s no cameras, we’re not going to give you those crying episodes, those wants and needs for drama. It’s real life and it’s what you put into it,” says celebrity trainer Jessica Limpert. “And we’re going to push you a little harder, we are definitely going to push you.”

Biggest Loser Niagara, the first for the brand on the East Coast, uses its woodsy location on the 300-acre grounds of the Beaver Hollow Conference Center to the max, and not just in summer.

“We have cross-country skiing, we have snowshoeing and hiking. There’s a lot you can do in the northeast in the wintertime,” says Kathy Egan of the Biggest Loser Resort.

The daily program includes a regimen of cardio, strength training and aqua classes.

The menu plan — 1,500 calories a day — is designed for optimal fat burning, with the proper nutrients for workouts.

“My first hike, my first week, I almost couldn’t even finish it. Now I’m like running up the hills on the hike. It’s incredible, the changes I’ve made,” said Claire Hurteau from Ohio.

Double occupancy rates are $2,295 per person. Visit before the construction is finished in early September and get a $500 discount.

Book by July 31 for a stay between July 29-September 16 and get 50 percent off a friend’s stay. For more information, visit biggestloserresort.com.
