Traveling With Fido

Pooch-Friendly Poconos

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

The Inn at Pocono Manor in Pennsylvania just got a little bit friendlier. Pet friendlier, that is. For the first time since the opening 108 years ago, The Inn has opened its doors to pets.

The Inn is the longest continuously operating resort in the Poconos, and it’s the only historic resort in the Poconos that allows furry companions.

Up to two pets are allowed per room and the additional fee is $50 per room for guests traveling with their pets. This fee includes a complimentary Doggie Welcome Gift with food and water bowls, a doggie toy, clean-up baggies and a treat.

There are also special lodging accommodations with easy access for dog walks.

Human travelers won’t be disappointed either, as there is a wide range of activities, with two 18-hole golf courses, a spa, several restaurants and lounges, and pools, just to name a few.

Starting rates range from $89 to $209 per night, depending on seasonality and availability.
