As summer nears its end, whether you’re looking for a family getaway, a weekend on the green, or just some TLC at a spa, the three resorts at Woodloch in Pennsylvania’s Poconos may be the place to go. NY1′s Valarie D’Elia filed the following report.

Whether you want some family time together before the summer ends, a romantic getaway or a round of golf with friends, Woodloch in the Pocono Mountains of Eastern Pennsylvania just might fit the bill.

Located 95 miles from Manhattan, Woodloch, as I discovered on a media visit, is a collection of three different style resorts.

Family-friendly Pines, a 1,200-acre lake-front compound, has just about every childhood activity imaginable in an all-inclusive stay.

“This is the kind of vacation we enjoy, it’s carefree,” says one visitor.

Pricey on the weekends and holidays, midweek rates are the most affordable, starting at $155 a night per adult depending on the accommodations, with kids ages three to six staying for free.

If your body clock is ruled by “tee time,” then a visit to Woodloch Springs and its 18-hole golf course could be a hole-in-one.

The Lodge At Woodloch, a destination spa, rounds out the trio of choices for girlfriend getaways or romantic couples looking for a woodsy hideaway with an emphasis on wellness.

Three portion-controlled meals are included in the nightly rate, and without a calorie count in sight, this is far from a “deprivation vacation.”

Surrounded by gentle hiking trails, a stay here will feed the soul and offer other nutritional benefits that extend well beyond the doors of this luxury escape.

Again, midweek is going to be your best value, at $249 per person per night, based on double occupancy in August and September, except for Labor day Sunday. Besides meals, this includes all fitness classes, gym workouts and lectures.

Add another $100 a night and get $130 worth of spa credits toward treatments.
