The Big Apple has a lot to celebrate.

Mayor Bill de Blasio is announcing that New York City welcomed a record 58.3 million visitors in 2015 – the sixth consecutive year that tourism numbers reached a milestone.

With that many visitors, the number of tourists increased by 1.8 million from 2014. Of those visitors, 46 million were domestic and 12.3 million came from abroad.

Hotel demand is breaking records, too. A total of 33.7 million hotel room-nights were sold out last year – a jump by 1.26 million compared to the year prior.
