If you traveled during the 2014 holiday travel season from the three New York City area airports, you might have shelled out a pretty penny on airfare.

According to Skift, data released by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics shows that the fourth quarter of 2014 was the first time since before the recession that JFK, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty airports were the most expensive during a fourth quarter. It’s during this time that millions of Americans were flying for Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holidays.

The data shows that the average domestic roundtrip airfare at the New York City airports was $440.66 – that’s 12 percent higher than the overall national average for the quarter, which was $392.66.

For that period, Newark Liberty’s individual airport average ticket was a whopping $488.78. At JFK, it was $447.32 and $402.16 at LaGuardia.
