Ever find yourself delayed on the tarmac at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark airports?

According to a report by the Global Gateway Alliance, those three airports are the worst in the country for tarmac delays between 61 and 300 minutes in terms of the percentage of flights impacted.

In 2014, 0.68 percent of flights at LaGuardia sat on the tarmac while 0.63 percent at JFK were delayed. Of the flights at Newark, 0.42 percent did not leave on time.

According to the New York Daily News, delays can be caused by weather and congestion. Thanks to a federal rule, airlines face a $27,500 per passenger fine if the plane stays on the tarmac more than three hours.

Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport experienced the most held-up flights, with 3,679 delayed takeoffs or landings.
