Mexico Travel Rebounds

Now that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) downgraded its travel warning to Mexico to a simple "travel health precaution," the tourism industry is busy rebuilding its image after the swine flu scare.

The Mexico Tourism Board, as well as the Riviera Maya Destination Marketing Office are stepping their promotions to bring travelers back and recoup losses. Apple Vacations is extending its "Biggest-ever Mexico Sale," with prices reduced up to 70%, through May 28.

On the high seas, both Carnival Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean International said they would resume calls to Mexican ports, as early as this weekend.
