Mexico Flights Scaled Back

Although Mexico is a popular destination for U.S. travelers, flights to the country’s southern neighbor will soon become less frequent.

Delta has notified the U.S. Department of Transportation that it plans to reduce its U.S.-Mexico service this summer and fall due to escalating fuel prices, Travel Weekly reports.

Delta will switch from year-round to seasonal operations six of its connection services leaving Los Angeles. Suspended flights are in the August to November period.

Routes including New York-Puerto Vallarta, New York-Cabo San Lucas, Orlando-Mexico City, Salt Lake City-Mexico City, Atlanta-Acapulco and Washington-Cancun will be scaled back, since they’re not major markets for the airline.
