Changes at Carnival Cruise
Carnival Cruise Lines plans to make changes in its itineraries in the wake of rising airline fares.
The company is developing plans to sail year-round from Baltimore, according to Travel Weekly and Budget Travel, so that passengers can drive to the ports instead of fly there.
Although the cruises' fuel consumption will increase to reach the Caribbean from Maryland, Carnival Cruises is looking to keep its customers on board.
Carnival also started an open-seating dining program, Budget Travel reports. On the Legend, passengers will be able to eat any time within certain hours without making a reservation. If the program proves popular, open-seating will become a mainstay within a year.
