Ride to Grand Canyon For Free
From now until September 1, visitors to the Grand Canyon in Arizona can take a free shuttle service to the canyon's South Rim and thereby help ease traffic.
The National Park Service will run the shuttle from Tusayan to the park's main information plaza in the hopes of easing car congestion in one of the park's busiest areas. The shuttle will run approximately every 20 minutes from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Although the shuttle is free, visitors still need to pay the park entry fees.
Admission, which covers seven days and varies from $25 for each non-commercial vehicle to $12 per person entering on foot, bicycle or motorcycle, includes both the North and South Rim.
Depending on the shuttle's success, the park service may offer the shuttle again during the summer of 2009, according to the Associated Press.
