New York will be one of the cities hit hardest later this year when American Airlines cuts back on flights, reports ny1.com.

LaGuardia Airport will lose 42 American Airlines flights, mostly shorter regional ones. Chicago's hub will lose 62 flights a day.

Eight cities are being dropped altogether by American -- including Albany.
