The Maritime Hotel, one of the hippest places in the Meatpacking District/West Chelsea neighborhood, is pulling back the curtain on its recent renovations.

Hoteliers Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode have given the lobby a facelift to make it feel like a luxury ocean liner lounge, complete with a centuries-old stone fireplace. Another new addition to the space is Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich’s restaurant La Sirena; it has a marble bar, patio, mirrored beams, and a wall of opaque glass panels.

Details even extend high above your head, with oak beams and brass tacks. Other decorative touches include table lamps, pendant lights, and a reworking of the property’s famed nautical-themed mural.

After taking a stroll around the lobby, stake out a spot on one of the refreshed club chairs or on the 14-foot sofa that has been reupholstered with fabric printed with black and brown sketches of the subway.

Nightly rates are from $225.
