What’s making headlines when it comes to airline baggage policies? Read on to find out.

If you’re on select Delta flights this summer, your boarding process might get a bit speedier.

According to TravelPulse, the airline will introduce a new carry-on bag service to certain flights until Aug. 31. Called Early Valet, the service lets passengers leave their carry-on luggage with a Delta employee at the gate. The employee will place the bag in the bin over the passenger’s seat before boarding. Bags will be specially tagged.

The service is going to be offered on select departures from airports in Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, Seattle, Minneapolis, and Salt Lake City.

Remember the days when JetBlue would let you check your first bag for free? Well, the good ol’ days are over. The airline is instituting a new fare structure with three fare types: the cheapest, called Blue, doesn’t include a checked bag but passengers can add one for an additional cost; Blue Plus includes one free checked bag, more frequent flier points and lower fees if passengers want to make changes to the reservation; and the most expensive tier, Blue Flex, comes with two free checked bags and allows changes without penalty. Those who purchase a Blue fare will pay $20-$25 for their checked bag.

The fare difference between Blue and Blue Plus will change based on route and demand, though it will be around $15. Blue Flex tickets are about $100 more each way, but are refundable.

Need to bring a second bag? The cost for an additional piece of luggage will now be $35 each way.
