September turned out to be a great month for airlines and passengers.

According to data from the Department of Transportation’s Air Travel Consumer Report, carriers cancelled 0.3 percent of their scheduled domestic flights in September – a drop from 0.4 percent the same month last year. This August, the rate was 1.4 percent.

According to TravelPulse, that’s the lowest since the DOT started keeping records back in 1995.

Plus, there weren’t any tarmac delays of more than three hours for domestic flights. Combined, airlines had a record on-time rate of 85.5 percent for the month.
