The Department of Transportation (DOT) is proposing a rule requiring airlines and ticket agents to disclose any carry-on and checked bag fees right when a customer begins an airfare search, Travel Weekly reports.
If passed, the airlines would have to publish the fees up front, rather than near the end of the transaction.
