If you’ve visited Walt Disney World’s theme parks in the last several years, you’ll likely remember having to get your fingerprint scanned electronically upon entrance at the gates.

The process – known as biometric scanning – is in place to cut back on ticket fraud: once that ticket is connected to you, no other individual can use it.

Now, the resort is requiring that children ages 3 to 9 have their fingerprints scanned at the entrance. Previously, only adults and those older than 9 had to provide the scan. Fox News reports that the parents can use their own fingerprints should they not want their child to provide it.

The machine does not store the captures, and the information expires once the tickets’ dates end.
