Travelers to the Dominican Republic will get discounted weekend rates of up to 50% off winter prices at the Hilton Santo Domingo.

Rates start at $110 per night for weekends between now and Aug. 31, 2008.

The weekend package includes oceanfront accommodations and buffet breakfast for two. For $20 extra per night, guests can upgrade to a suite.

The 21-floor hotel, which has the city's largest casino, is located on El Malecón, the city's oceanfront boulevard. The Hilton is minutes from the colonial district, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.
