Since they were introduced to Walt Disney World in 2013, MagicBands have changed the guest experience. The bracelets are used as a hotel room key and hold park tickets, reservations, FastPass+, and more. Now, a similar technology is coming to Carnival Corporation.

The New York Times reports that John Padgett and Michael G. Jungen – the duo behind the MagicBands – are upgrading the technology to be used on cruises as early as this year.

Dubbed Ocean Compass, it will have an app and small medallion. Passengers can use it to pay for food, drinks, and merchandise. On board, browse jewelry, clips, and keychains that can be used to carry the medallion.

You won’t even need to tap the device to any sensors: once you’re near your stateroom door, it will unlock. Plus, use the medallion to navigate the ships and find others in your party.
