On the heels of United announcing its basic economy fares, American Airlines is following suit.

The lower-priced option – available on select routes – only allows passengers a personal item to be placed underneath the seat in front of them. This means they will have to check their luggage.

Additionally, the tickets are non-refundable and you don’t receive a seat assignment until check-in.

Passengers with these fares will also be the last group to board the plane.
